What We Stand For

The National Justice Initiative is
dedicated to the pursuit of justice that
impacts the lives of people in the 21st
century.

We recognize that we currently live in
an interconnected world. Our lives are
woven together through ubiquitous
and instantaneous access to
information and people from all over
the world via the Internet.

We therefore accept the proposition
that we are "citizens of the world" and
that injustice left unchallenged
anywhere in the world can and will
affect people all over the world,
particularly the most vulnerable.

We also recognize that the daunting
justice issues of the 20th century
have been replaced with equally
daunting justice issues in the 21st
century.

We know that the sins of the now
defunct Cold War have been replaced
with the sins of the War on Terror.
We know that segregation in the
United States has been replaced with
Institutional and Systemic Racism,
what has been famously called "The
New Jim Crow."

Consequently, we leave up to others
the task of preserving the gains made
in the last century. We focus our
energy and resources on the justice
challenges we face in the 21st century
